Why Jerome Ford will be the best ADP value RB

My Case for Jerome Ford ?

The Browns released D’onta Foreman. As of today, the only other RB on the roster not on IR is Pierre Strong. I’m telling you right now is the time to buy that dip in dynasty or take him in your redraft leagues. Jerome Ford will be the best ADP value RB. Let me tell you why. There is no way he finishes the year as RB 39 where he is currently being drafted.

Chubb’s recovery window

Jerome Ford will be the lead back in Cleveland for at least the first four weeks, with little competition. After all, even if Chubb does return, it takes 15-18 months according to @Drjessemorse to be 100%. Furthermore, his chance of a compensatory injury is very high. After all, as of the writing of this article it has been 344 days since his injury. If he should return week 5 it will have been 384 days from a total knee reconstruction. He is rushing it. That is not even the minimum of 15 months. I doubt he will be worth even rostering at any cost this season. Even if he plays, chances are he will have an extremely limited workload and not be at 100%. Don’t forget the added reinjury risk. He is different but he is still human. This was a catastrophic injury.

Ford is REALLY good

Take advantage of the Chubb hopium abusers, and grab Ford everywhere you can. He is by far the most attractive RB in his current ADP range. (39)

He averaged 4.0 ypc on 204 carries for 813 yards and 4 tds.

Ford caught 44 passes on 63 targets for 319 yds and 5 more TDs.

He Ranked 7th in broken tackles. the real icing on the cake here is PFF ranks Cleveland’s Offensive line as 4th in the NFL.

Ford finished as the RB 15 last season in PPR scoring for RBs.

He is being drafted as RB 39? He has no competition and a great offensive line. there is no way he finishes as the 39th back, therefore making him the best overall ADP value. There is a real chance he cracks the top 12 if he remains healthy and involved in the passing game. I can’t really think of any situations that are better for a running back in the league right now.

Who is going ahead of him?

Backs going ahead of him are all in solid committee situations, have way worse offensive lines, or both. Moss, Brown, Spears, Zeke, Robinson jr., Singletary, Ekeler. None of the players are guaranteed the volume that Ford should get this year.

OTHER Cleveland RB ROOM INJURIES

What room? Pierre Strong was taken to the hospital by ambulance for a rib contusion on 8/24. Although back at practice, rib injuries can linger for a running back. Nyheim Hines is joining Chubb on the 4 game IR for a knee injury of his own. Jerome Ford is the only fully healthy, viable running back on their roster. I don’t think Chubb is going to be effective enough or get enough work to put a dent in his production.

Final Thoughts

Unless Chubb finds some Wolverine blood or makes the most miraculous comeback in sports history, Ford is a must draft in all formats at cost. I’m even comfortable reaching a bit for him. Grab him now before everyone catches on. His volume alone makes him relevant, his talent could make him a star. His current ADP Of 39 makes his the best current ADP value RB today. He could easily finish in end of the RB1/ beginning of RB2 range.
