In a concerning development emanating from Texas, authorities are on the lookout for Rashee Rice. Rice’s vehicle was implicated in a multi-car crash incident Saturday. The car, either owned or leased by Rice, is reported to have been involved in a high-speed crash that has raised alarms over potential street racing activities.
According to Kristin Lowman, a spokesperson for the police department, the incident involved a Chevrolet Corvette and a Lamborghini engaging in high speeds. The Lamborghini reportedly lost control, instigating a chain reaction collision that affected four other vehicles. Witnesses and initial reports suggest the drivers of the Lamborghini and Corvette fled the scene post-accident. Without checking on the well-being of others, they then reportedly fled the scene.
This accident resulted in varying degrees of injuries among the involved individuals. At the scene, two people received immediate medical attention for minor injuries. Moreover, an additional two individuals necessitated transportation to a nearby hospital for minor injuries sustained from the crash.
Rice’s legal consequences only compound the severity of the situation. Leaving the scene of an accident, particularly one involving serious injuries, is a serious offense. In such case, the individuals responsible could face charges of a third-degree felony. According to § 12.34 of the Texas Penal Code, such convictions could result in a fine reaching up to $10,000 and imprisonment ranging from two to ten years.
Rice could be facing considerable prison time if he did leave the scene of an accident involving injuries. This incident serves as a somber reminder of the severe consequences of reckless driving and the legal and ethical responsibility every driver holds to ensure the safety and well-being of others on the road.
